For a long time confidential and reserved for a handful of experts, Montagny offers today, for the largest public of amateurs more each day, its elegance and freshness of Great White Wine of Bourgogne.

Monks time
In the Lord’s vines, monks of the powerful neighbouring abbeys of Cluny, La Ferté and the canons of Chalon were no slow to discover the virtues of the precious white borned in Montagny’s hillsides. They had contributed to emphasize this treasure from the Middle Ages as many writings well preserved testify it.

A.O.C. (Guaranteed vintage) since 1936
Additionnal proof of quality, Montagny was one of the first Bourgognes to prove its worth with the guaranteed vintage (Appellation d’Origine Controlée) in 1936 with the I.N.A.O. (Institut National des Appellations d’Origine).
Today, in the biggest respect of the burgundians traditions, but without neglecting qualitatives contributions of the oenologic science, the Great White Wine of Montagny producers union, which gather all the wine growers, is working to make know better and appreciate the Montagny.
